FAQ
-
How often should I take the Health Elixirs?Initially, supplement daily for 2 weeks. After this period, take every other day.
-
Do you use the mushroom cap or the mycelium in Mycelial Magic products? We never use mycelium in our extraction process. This is because research shows that the majority of beneficial compounds are present in the mushroom cap (fruiting body). Of course there are beneficial compounds in mushroom mycelium too, but research shows that it's no way near what is present in the mushroom itself.

Why is Miron Glass Jar used in your re-fillable products? The violet miron glass jar we use provides an extra layer of protection for the bio-active compounds in our creations. For example, our 'Radiance' Hot Chocolate Supermix is 100% re-fillable, and utilises miron glass jar technology to preserve the product for longer. This is also an ethical design, as the Radiance tub needs only be purchased once. If a customer wishes to top-up on Radiance, re-fillable pouches of the product can be purchased and poured into the miron glass jar directly. Re-fillable pouches are made to order, to ensure our batches are always freshly dispensed for every single customer.

What is Mushroom Mycelium?Mushroom mycelium is the bulk of the fungal organism that lives and grows underground. It can be likened to how most of an iceberg is submerged underwater but only a fraction of it can be seen above the ocean with the naked eye. We can see the mushroom (fruiting body) of the fungi, but we don't see the long, white root-like network that makes up most of what the fungal entity is, because it lives underground in the soil and we cannot see it in plain sight. Mycelium connects with the roots of plants, and is capable of sending chemical and electromagnetic signals to them, and also to each other. As fungi synthesize and transport beneficial compounds to the plant to increase it's immunity and survival, in return the plant provides the fungi with basic sugars, in order for the mycelium to continue creating complex compounds from these basic carbohydrates.

Why is your brand called 'Mycelial Magic? Why 'Mycelial'? As explained above, Mycelial Networks are the root-like underground fungal networks that make up the bulk of the fungi. The mycelium have been coined 'The Chemical Alchemists of the Ecosystem'. They are responsible for creating pivotal compounds that benefit at least 90% of all plants on the planet, and are responsible for decomposing dead organic matter, as well as recomposing life on the forest floor. Many compounds isolated from fungi have been used in the pharmaceutical industry for important medical applications, and hundreds of new metabolic compounds are being discovered and researched for their unique abilities. Although the mushroom (fruiting body) gets most the attention in popular culture, the brand name honours the bulk of the organism, which is the mycelium. Why 'Magic'? The properties of different fungi can range from healing, miraculous, intelligent and bizarre to sheer deadly. Whilst we do not yet understand the language of fungal networks, and the roles they fully play, it is clear they are multi-layered entities, capable of being 'nowhere and everywhere at the same time' as displayed by the behaviour of mycelial networks. We find this property bizarre. It's been shown scientifically that a single particle is able to be in '2 places at once', but to visually see this trait in a living organism is unusual, and adds a unique visual insight into the strange nature of reality. Whether fungi reside on the forest floor or as a pre-biotic in the animal gut microbiome, one thing is clear; the ability of fungi to manipulate and shape it's environment (or behaviour of it's animal or plant host) is irrefutable. Although we still know very little about the scientific mechanisms of fungi, I believe it is one of our missions as a species to crack the fungal biological code.
